The older subject, a potential projection of the younger subject, reflects on a full life of experience, memories, and unfortunately regret, from a lack of focus and gratitude on the present. 

Jodianne uses deep, cool shadows, to create dynamics that compliment the heavy expression of the subject. Despite the pain in her expression, the audience can appreciate the strength in the relatability, and vulnerability. The collector can see themselves in between these two subjects, ensuring they change the narrative in their own life.
